The French Navy's Atlantique 2 patrol aircraft, which was on a NATO mission, was targeted by the targeting radar of the Russian S-400 system. The incident prompted condemnation from the French Defence Minister, who noted that the action violated international norms. As part of Operation Baltic Sentry, NATO continues to strengthen maritime patrols in the Baltic Sea to ensure the security of vital infrastructure, respond to threats such as sabotage of submarine cables and ensure effective surveillance of strategic waters. The Atlantic 2 scanned 200 ships around Swedish waters without encountering any threats, although the S-400 radar probably came from Kaliningrad.
